Last night was date night! Neither of us could decide where to have dinner, so we settled on my favorite spot “Jose Pepper’s.” After a very busy and emotionally draining week, I was looking forward to Friday date night with my husband. We met in college and became great friends from the very beginning. l loved his authenticity – no pretense with him. What you see is what you get. He loves God not just in word or at church when everyone is watching, but he loves God with all his heart all the time. And he is my best friend – someone I can always count on to truly listen and to help me and to care more about me than he does himself. After almost 32 years of marriage and raising 3 kids, I realize now more than ever how thankful I am for my husband. I recently read a quote by Winnie the Pooh that so echoes how my heart feels about Dan… “If you live to be 100, I hope I live to be 100 minus 1 day, so I never have to live without you.”
