John Maxwell writes about the importance of gathering the best team possible in your organization because it elevates the potential of the team. Paying the price to develop your team involves time, it might cost some money and sometimes – what is hard for us as leaders – we must set aside our own personal agendas. We have to pay attention to the team and measure its progress and that takes time.
If you want to have a great team, let them know how much you care about them. That comes from spending time with them and doing things together as a team because “Even when you’ve played the game of life, it’s the feeling of teamwork that you will remember. You’ll forget most of the plays, the shots and the scores. But you’ll never forget your team mates.”
Everyone is leading someone. Who are you leading and what are you doing to show them that you care about them?
